Father Bill’s & MainSpring (FBMS) was founded by interfaith and community leaders who recognized a growing need to help individuals and families struggling with poverty and homelessness. This compassionate response to help our most vulnerable neighbors remains a core value of FBMS more than 30 years later.
We have since built upon that response in a way that addresses the issue of homelessness in a permanent and more cost-effective way, moving beyond simply providing shelter. Our newest strategic plan focuses on an increase in affordable, permanent supportive housing by 100 units, a more efficient model of care for families experiencing homelessness, and a commitment to a housing resource center model to reduce the need for shelter.
A gift to FBMS is an investment in an organization that is uniquely qualified to provide these solutions. As a pioneer of the Housing First model, we move people struggling with homelessness into housing and provide them the support they need to gain self-sufficiency and remain housed. More than a decade later, with an average of 92% of tenants remaining housed each year, thousands of individuals and families are no longer homeless.
